Forecasts are uncertain

All forecast data is model output supplied by third parties. Models are approximations. In Dakhla, wind timing, gust strength and fog are especially difficult to predict precisely, and conditions can differ substantially between the lagoon, the ocean side of the peninsula and inland desert points only a few kilometres apart.

Safety on the water

Kitesurfing, wing foiling, surfing, swimming and boating carry real risk. Wind, tide, swell and current conditions can change faster than any forecast updates. Never make a go/no-go decision on the water based solely on this site. Check conditions locally, ride within your ability, follow the instructions of your school or centre, and never ride alone in offshore wind.
