The wind follows a thermal cycle: light in the morning, building from late morning as the Sahara heats up, peaking between roughly 14:00 and 18:00, then dropping fast after sunset. Always look at the hourly forecast rather than the daily average.
What kite size should I bring to Dakhla?+
For a 75 kg rider, a 7 / 9 / 12 m quiver covers nearly every day of the year. In peak season (April to August) the 8–10 m range does most of the work.
