How much wind does the Dakhla lagoon need?+
The lagoon starts working from about 12 knots for a heavier rider on a big kite, is comfortable from 15 knots, and is at its best between 18 and 30 knots. Above 33 knots it becomes an experienced-rider day.
What time of day is windiest in Dakhla?+
The wind follows a thermal cycle: light in the morning, building from late morning as the Sahara heats up, peaking between roughly 14:00 and 18:00, then dropping fast after sunset. Always look at the hourly forecast rather than the daily average.
What kite size should I bring to Dakhla?+
